Once upon a time, India raw human hair truly originated in Europe. India factories processed high quality hair and sold it, tied with a blue thread, as "India raw hair". This delicately handled hair was kept in the high quality "remy" state, with roots aligned in order. This finest quality was often labeled "Italian raw hair," but this was many decades ago. Over the past 30 some years, India fur has become a standard of quality rather than origin. Raw human hair collected throughout Europe ran its course and is no longer available in the vast quantities necessary to stock a proper line of hairstyle additions. This shortage lead to the replacement of raw India grass with Indian human hairstyle that is now bleached and dyed to obtain the same range of Caucasian colors.
Buying good quality raw hair extensions can be extremely confusing, difficult and time consuming, and buying the wrong type or overly processed or treated villus can prove to be a very costly mistake.
With more and more women around the world loving and sometimes needing the help of extensions, I felt it more important than ever to explain the fundamentals, of buying quality real frizzies extensions, to help women be more informed and able to understand the hairstyle extensions industry, in order to make informative choices and to stop losing money and time on sub-standard hair extensions and or application methods.
Having great raw Hair extensions is incredible and can even be life changing one who has struggled with fine or limp locks or which simply doesn't grow long and luscious like they wish it would, real mop extensions can offer the greatest solution to their mop woes.
I have complete knowledge related all application methods, processing procedures and origins and after 14 years of being a senior extension artist and master trainer in all methods of attachment I would like to share with you the some in deep knowledge to help you purchase the extensions of your dreams, so you never have to worry about tangling, damage to your own raw hair or uncomfortable or even painful low quality real tuft extensions again!
So lets begin. I have broken this article into several key categories. Please read through the steps carefully. This will help to inform you and help you with asking the correct questions when purchasing hair extensions from your dealer.
High quality "India" or "Italian" locks are still packaged with a blue thread to mark its high quality, this pelt is now solely collected in India. The processors take extreme time and care to manufacture a high quality product. If they told the customers it was actually Indian, bleached and dyed to look like India real tress, the value would have dropped due to the reputation of raw Indian lockson the market at that time. A lot of Indian locks was previously collected and imported to Asian factories for mass production hairpieces and extensions. The massive quantities and quick turn over time caused many problems. It was - and still is - possible to buy less expensive India’s lock in the "non-remy" state - which means cuticles running in opposite direction. Non-Remy lock requires heavy duty acid treatments to prevent tangling, in addition to the bleaching and dyeing methods at the Asian factories. This over processed, low quality raw human hair is known in the market as "Indian hair," and reflects a lesser quality. So, "India" versus "Russia" mane is not a discussion about origin; it is a discussion about the collection and processing of raw human locks. Wool processors realized they could maintain an active clientele of original India shock buyers by referring to this new product as "India," even though the name no longer denoted the hair's origin.
As it became obvious real India toupee was no longer available, the struggle began to upgrade India’s human hair's reputation in the market. At the same time, the Russian hair market opened up, offering a new product boasting superior qualities. Over the next two decades a battle between Indian and raw Russian hair ensued. "India" hair's origin was still misunderstood and became confusing for many distributors, buyers, and consumers. They would purchase the "Best Quality India Hair," still believing it came from India factories, only to be disappointed with the imported product. In desperation, the stylists, salon owners, wig makers, and owners of sideburn product lines began questioning every wool manufacturer and seller as to the exact origin their sideburn, trying to figure out what was what and what was best.
Then came the single biggest change in the extensions industry - the introduction of individual bundles of extensions. The business of extensions and other products was previously a very private industry (and grass replacement continues to be). But now, the use of tresses extensions was suddenly fashionable. It became a popular service in high-end salons, and several new real ruff lines were backed by celebrity endorsements. Sure, old school patrons and educated buyers still existed and continued to pursue high quality product, but the industry became pressed by demand for the latest and most popular brand name. The surge in popularity distracted from the pursuit of quality and now, a few decades later, many are still asking "Is there really any India human quill?"
The extension market is not ruled by standards of quality, so buyers and stylists must educate themselves and ask the right questions to decipher which products are truly high qualities. There are so many falsely advertised real "India Raw Hair," "Remy hair," or "100% Russian Hair" lines that are selling a cheap product, disguised and packaged as a high quality product. Choose your words wisely. Do you really want to know if the wig is from Europe? Or are you asking if it is from Europe because that defines the hair's quality?
The origin of extensions will not necessarily determine the quality of the finished product. It is not the hair's origin that determines its qualities, rather qualities is defined by the hair's methods of processing and control. There is very poor quality Russian real hair, and there is silky beautiful Indian fringe. In the end, it is about the hair's performance, its look and feel, and ultimately the consumer's satisfaction.
