Various types of Indian

The Haircut is classified into two types. Remy and Non-Remy.Remy: The Best quality Remy tress is temple mane from TamilNadu, Kerala, Andhra Pradesh and Karnataka.

The next quality hairstyles are from temples of North India.

Virgin curls refers to curls that is completely unprocessed and intact. To qualify as virgin curls, it must meet rigorous standards including: not been permed, dyed, colored, bleached, and chemically processed in any way. This also means it comes from a single donor, and all the cuticles are intact, running in the same direction. Virgin fibre can last up to a year with proper care and maintenance you have to care for your extensions just like your own natural fibre. You need to shampoo and condition your fibre regularly, especially if you use a lot of fiber products.

The Non Remy is the waste fiber collected from home then sold as ‘thuku fiber’.

Non-Remy fleece is collected from the floor of temples, salons and random suppliers. With this type of collection method, cuticle directions become mixed, causing inevitable shedding, tangling and matting problems. To mask the problems that will arise with non-Remy fleece, the haircut will go through a process sometimes referred to as an “acid bath”, to completely remove the entire cuticle. This can be equivalent to about ten relaxers in a row. After the cuticle removal process, the haircut is dipped in silicone to make it shine and to cover up any cuticles that were not removed in the acid bath. The silicone adds weight to the locks and ups the selling price as locks is sold by weight. The locks initially feel silky and soft, however, after few washes the silicone coating wears off and the locks feels very brittle and starts matting and tangling. Problems will arise with non-Remy mane after a few washes and will not last beyond a few washes and cannot be reused. Also, since the cuticles are stripped and not intact, the mane extensions are unable to tolerate colour treatment or heat.

The mane is also collected from salon parlours which may or may not be Remy but will have lots of dye & grey tresses. There is another variety of tresses which is collected from Gujarat which is the lowest category of tresses it will be brown color & lots of dye wig presence. Then there is also wig collected from Punjab which is men wig, the mop will rough & the quality will be lower than the temple mop.
